Early Childhood Typical Peer Program

The CBSED Early Childhood Department also continues to provide the Typical Peer Program (TPP) which enables children without disabilities to participate in developmental preschool classes. Parents are required to pay a nominal semester tuition fee and to provide transportation to the program. The process for applying to this program begins with completion of developmental screening and application typically in the Spring before enrollment. Applications are reviewed by a placement committee comprised of the District Supervisor for Early Childhood Programs, a preschool teacher, and a preschool speech therapist. Candidates are notified of acceptance into the TPP early in the summer prior to enrollment. In addition to the opportunity to participate in preschool classes, children in the TPP serve as role models of typical development for students enrolled in the program due to disabilities. To begin the application process for the TPP program, please contact Sarah Reuter, District Supervisor of the Early Childhood Department at 812-462-4364 ext. 203

The Early Childhood Typical Peer Program is not operating at this time.
